While I definitely have a love for radio and rock music, I am even more passionate about taking care of our beautiful planet! Recycling is a great and super easy way to make a positive impact on the Earth. Keep scrolling for more information on what to recycle, how to recycle it, and more!
We only get one Earth — let’s take care of it together.
MEET THE SIX:
CARTONS
FLATTENED CARDBOARD
GLASS BOTTLES & JARS
PAPER
METAL FOOD & BEVERAGE CANS
PLASTIC BOTTLES
THESE SIX ITEMS ARE ALWAYS RECYCLABLE! CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL MUNICIPALITY TO FIND OUT HOW.
Each municipality has its own processes for recycling each of these items. Your city's website can tell you the proper procedures for disposing of them.
Do make sure every item is free of smells and food waste.
Do make sure your items stay dry in your bin.
Don't put anything with food waste or liquid on it in your bin.
Don't put plastic bags in your bin- they can jam machines at recycling facilities. Instead, recycle your plastic bags at participating grocery and home improvement stores.
Don't bag your recyclables- keep them loose in your bin.
Special recycling events are a great way to clear out some of the old clutter in your house or garage — recycling facilities can accept a pretty extensive list of items at these events that you can’t throw away in your own bins. They’ll make sure your items don’t end up in a landfill and some will even unload your vehicle for you onsite. Some items (mainly TVs and old fridges) may require a recycling fee, but it’s a small price to pay to make a big difference!
